Joint Venture Partners
The Cardiff Medicentre was established in 1992 to provide dedicated facilities for new start companies in the medical and health care sector. The Centre is the result of a joint venture partnership between Cardiff Council, Cardiff University, the Welsh Assembly Government and The Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust and its construction was partly financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
The Medicentre was the first of its kind in the United Kingdom. New start and growing enterprises in the medical, health care and pharmaceutical sectors are able to take advantage of a supportive and understanding environment and a wealth of expertise from the University, including access to the joint academic network.
Through its partners and other private sector companies in the city, a comprehensive business support package is available including:
Strategic business development assistance
Mentoring through business support agencies
Critical skills acquisition and development through the centre’s Business Development Credit worth £5,000.
